Russian Deputy Minister of Energy and company
officials

Kurdistan region "Iraq", — In the frame
work of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)
delegation visit, the KRG Reconstruction Minster and
the head of the delegation, Emad Ahmed, met the
Russian First Deputy Minister of Energy, Anatoly
Yanofski Monday at the ministry’s headquarter.
At the beginning of the meeting, Yanofski welcomed
the delegation and said, “We are pleased today to
meet with a KRG delegation”, adding that the
relation between both Russian and Kurdish people are

and the time has come to
strengthen this relation’. He also said, ‘We are
ready to provide any kind of support because the
Russian companies have a long experience and ability
in oil, gas, electric, and geological searching
aspects, saying that unfortunately due to some
different views between Iraqi and Russian
Governments, we did not carry out those signed
contracts’.
For his part, Emad Ahmed thanked Yanofski, and
conveyed the gratitude and thank of both Presidents
Talabani and Barzani. Later he talked about the
situation in Iraq and Kurdistan Region, saying that
Kurdistan Region is stable and there is a good
opportunity for investments in the region.
After that, KRG Electric Minister, Hoshyar Siwaily,
talked about the electric issues in the region, and
invited the Russian companies to work in this
aspect, adding that KRG is ready for all
facilitation and support.
Later on, in a statement the Head of the Russian Oil
and Gas Company, Aga Babov, talked about the
experience of one of the Russian companies in Iraq,
and he expressed his readiness to work for KRG.
It is worth mentioning, the meeting attended by KRG
Reconstruction Mister Emad Ahmed KRG Electric
Minister Hoshyar Siwaily the Head of Investment Body
Hersh Muharam and the PUK representative Shorish
Khalid.
Meanwhile at the same day, the KRG delegation met
Russian lawmaker Zalmkhan Motsoyav and the head of
the Iraqi section in Russian parliament and the Head
of Kurdish-Russian Economic Support Council attended
by the Head of Russian Consular in Russian Foreign
Minister, Company officials and Russian officials.
In the same meeting, the Kurdish-Russian Economic
Support Council work was explained,www.ekurd.net
and they dealt with the
mechanism to enhance the aforementioned council
which was founded after Brimakov visit to Kurdistan
Region.
For his part, Emad Ahmed said that it is essential
for the Kurdish businessmen to visit Russia. For
this reason, Russia should facilitate to give Russia
visa.
The Head of Russian Consulate in Russian Foreign
Ministry said, ‘All mechanisms are prepared to give
Russian visa to Kurdistan Region people by Russian
Consulate in Erbil on next January’.
