Iraqi Kurdistan presidency says Barazani’s visit to Iran “successful”

Erbil: Iraqi Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani and his delegation returned to Erbil from a three-day visit to Iran on Friday,
www.ekurd.net the presidential cabinet chief said, terming the visit as “successful”.

“Barazani discussed with Iranian officials several issues including the security agreement between Iraq and the United States,
www.ekurd.net bilateral relations between the two sides and the Iranian shelling of border areas within Iraq’s Kurdistan region as well as regional political developments,” Fouad Hussein told VOI.

Barzani had led a Kurdish delegation on Wednesday to Iran, where he met with senior officials including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Kurdish delegation partakes in UNIDO conference-coordinator

Erbil: Iraq’s Kurdistan coordinator for UN affairs on Friday said a Kurdish delegation would participate in an international agricultural conference to be held in Austria.

“Kurdistan’s delegation would take part in a conference for the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to be held the UN headquarter in Austria,” Dindar Zebari. Kurdistan Coordinator for UN affairs said.

The Kurdish official highlighted the annual conference “is important to develop agriculture sector in Kurdistan region”.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) helps developing countries and economies in transition in their fight against marginalization.
