The film "Angels Die in the Soil" by Iran's renowned
Kurdish director Babak Amini won the main prize in
the International Ischia Italy Film Festival.
International Ischia Italy Film Festival was held
from June 24-29.
The film depicts the life of an Iraqi-Kurdish girl
who earns a living for herself and her ill father by
selling the bones of Iranian soldiers martyred
during the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-88.

she came across a
terrorist incident involving an American soldier on
her way back home, and decides to try to help him.
Babak Amini was born in 1978 in Iranian Kurdistan
province (Eastern Kurdistan). He went to school in
Tehran and graduated with a degree in philosophy. |

as assistant to the famous Iranian Kurdish director
Bahman Ghobadi in his films 'A Time for Drunken
Horses', 'Turtles Can Fly', and 'Half Moon'.
