ERBIL-HEWLER, Kurdistan region "Iraq", —
The University of Kurdistan - Hawler is delighted to
announce that the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan
Regional Government (KRG) has appointed a Governing
Body that replaces the Board of Directors appointed
on 4 April 2006. Effective from Thursday June 26,
the Governing Body consists of the following
members:
He Mr Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister
Dr Shafiq Qazzaz, Chairman
Dr Khaled Salih, KRG Representative
Mr Robin Brims, Rector
Ms Fatima Karim, Managing Director
Further members will be appointed in due course.
The university, established by the Prime Minister in
2006, offers social sciences degrees taught and
examined exclusively in English, with compulsory
foundation English classes for all students. The
KRG’s aim is to offer a free internationally
recognised education to qualifying students who can
one day contribute to the Kurdistan Region’s
economic, political and social development.
