Kurdistan president, UIC leader discuss politics,
security

BAGHDAD, — The leader of the Shiite Unified
Iraqi Coalition (UIC) discussed with Iraq's
Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani, who is
currently in Baghdad, the recent developments in the
political and security situation.
"On Monday, the head of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi
Council (SIIC) received Barzani in his Baghdad-based
office and discussed with him the recent
developments in the political and security
situation…," according to a statement released by
the office of Abdelaziz al-Hakeem and received by
VOI.
The UIC is the largest bloc with 83 seats in the
275-member parliament.
On Saturday, Barzani arrived in the Iraqi capital
and met with President Jalal Talabani to discuss a
number of issues,www.ekurd.net
including the Iraqi
parliament's passage of the law on provincial
council elections and the Presidential Board's
revocation of the law. |
