Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — The Independent High
Electoral Commission (IHEC) in Erbil city has
imposed a fine of 3 million Iraqi dinars on the
Kurdistan Alliance (KA) bloc for alleged election
violations during the election campaign ahead of the
Kurdistan region’s parliamentary and presidential
polls.
“One of the blocs taking part in Kurdistan’s
elections has reported violations by the Kurdistan
bloc during the election campaign,” an official from
the commission’s Erbil office, Amjad Rasoul, told
Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
In accordance with the commission’s instructions,
the name of the bloc that reported the violations
should not be disclosed, Rasoul noted.
