December 28, 2010

Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — During the last days more demonstrations took place to protest against a law the Iraqi-Kurdish parliament passed recently. Usually such rallies are only organised in the big cities like Sulaimaniyah and Erbil. But this time even people in smaller towns like Kalar, Darbandekhan , Koya, Kifri, Ranya, Halabja, Saed Sadeq and Qaladiza organised demonstration.

As Aram Jamal from the Kurdish Institute for Election said in an interview: “This is a public referendum against this law.” On each demonstration the thousands of people who went out demanded the parliament to change the incriminated law.
