Kurdish rapper accused of stealing €1.8m of gold

Frankfurt: The Kurdish gangster-rapper Xatar (Giwar Hajabi) is wanted by the German police for stealing gold, worth of 1.8 million Euro. Op 15 December 2009 a group of six men posed as tax investigators in Ludwigsburg and seized a van with gold, tied up their victims and fled into the forest. According to the police the men were lead by the Kurdish rapper Xatar. The German media says that the rapper fled with another suspect called Kawa Homam-Ghazi to Eastern Europe. On 23 September 2009 Xatar was arrested in Los Angeles for breaking the nose of a female in the playboy mansion, but later released on bail. Rudaw net

Tolerance International opens training course in Erbil

Erbil: A first-of-its-kind training course on “citizens & information technology press” was opened at the Science & Technology Academy in the city of Erbil on Friday. The two-day event, organized by Tolerance International with support from IREX organization, will be attended by 40 persons from all groups in the Iraqi societies. The training course will include lectures and intensive training on e-press and information technology as well as the transfer and dissemination of information. Lecturing in the course are a host of foreign experts like British journalist Oliver Paul, an expert in the Iraqi affairs, and Nelly Ahmedova, an Estonian photojournalist. The course was inaugurated in the presence of the Iraqi Kurdistan government’s minister of culture, the Tolerance International chief and the British consul in Erbil.

2 robbery gangs arrested in Sulaimaniyah

Sulaimaniyah: Kurdish security forces arrested two robbery gangs in central Klara district in Sulaimaniyah, a security source said on Friday. “The forces arrested late Thursday (Feb. 4) a three-people gang in Shahidan neighborhood in central Klara district, south of Sulaimaniyah,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. “The robbers stole a number of vehicles and sold them in Baghdad and other provinces,” he explained. “The Kurdish forces arrested on Friday morning (Feb. 5) another robbery gang in the same district,” the same source said. “The three gangsters used to attack stores to rob them,” he added.

$US 1700 000 allocated to implement Article 140

In an exclusive statement to PUKmedia Correspondent, the Lawmaker in the Iraqi Parliament from the Kurdistan Alliance Bloc Muhsen al-Saadon said that 1700 000 allocated to compensate those who are included with Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution in Shingal District. Al-Saadon also said that this allocation came due to his and the Kurdistan Alliance efforts.

Sulaimaniyah - ‘It was an accident not self-burning’

Sulaimaniyah: A 19 year girl was burned as the heating tool, local Kurdish name is (Premiz), exploded to her while she was using it at home on Saturday in Qaladze, 135km away from northeast of Sulaimaniyah. " Khadija A. Hasan, living in Shilana village, was ferried out to a nearby hospital as her body burned by Premiz explosion at home,” Jutyar Mohammed Amen told Aknews. "The rate of her body burn was too high and we sent her to Sulaimaniyah main hospital after delivering first aid here," Jutyar said. "Figures show that the burning cases have soared comparing with December 2009, due to recoding 13 cases and 8 of them have transferred to Sulaimaniyah hospital for treatments," he added. "My sister had used Premiz to heat water for taking shower, but it exploded to her as a result of pumping it," Khalid said. “My sister has not committed suicide, it was an accident not self-burning,” aknews com

Kurdistan’s parliament speaker meets Indian diplomat

Speaker of the Kurdistan parliament, Kamal Karkouki, discussed with an Indian diplomat, the political developments in the country, an official statement said on Friday. “Karkouki received on Friday at his office Indian ambassador’s advisor, with whom he discussed the political developments in Iraq and in Kurdistan as well as the coming parliamentary elections,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency. The Indian official praised the security and stability in the region, which became a main factor in the development and reconstruction.
