funding its offices and paying its junior members'
salaries for two months as the result of

Politicians of the smaller Kurdish parties feel
their views overlooked by Kurdistan Region President
Massoud Barzani while dealing with decisive matters
concerning the Kurds. Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU)
Secretary General briefs his party's media
criticizing Barzani for his unilateralism in making
decision on important issues and vows to boycott
Kurdish Parties Council meetings until such
behaviour is reviewed. Meanwhile Independent
Kurdistan Toilers' Party leader Qadir Aziz adds his
voice to KIU leader's saying that Kurdish political
parties are given no chance to participate and take
a role in decision-making process in Kurdistan

Irrigation project opened
in Kurdistan
The Ministry of Agriculture in Iraq’s Kurdistan has
inaugurated an irrigation project in Erbil City, the
first of its kind in the region, to save ground
water and supply irrigation water to the fields. The
project was conducted by an Iranian company,
according to a statement published on the web site
of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). Minister
Jameel Sulayman said that his government pays great
attention to the agricultural sector in the region.

About 55 University
Graduates, 270 Institution graduates employed in
Qaladza, Kurdistan
Sulaimaniyah: The Education Ministry of Kurdistan
Region has put on a green light to employ 55
University and 271 Institution graduates in
Kurdistan's Qaladza town, the town's Education Chief
has announced on Monday. “We need to provide more
teachers for Qaladza, and thus we have distributed
the application forms among a number of graduated
students, looking for jobs as teachers in the area,”
Ali Mohammed told Aknews. “We have submitted
the distributed application forms to the Regional
Education Ministry, and they expressed approval to
employee about 55 university graduates, as well as
271 Institution graduates as teachers around the
area,” Mohammed Said. “We will distribute the
potential teachers according to the school
necessities around the area, after we receive the
official approvals by the Finance Ministry of the
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG),” he noted.

President Barzani arrives
in Erbil International Airport, from Austria
On Sunday, following an official visit to the United
States, Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani
arrived home via Erbil International Airport. KRG
Premier Dr. Barham Ahmed Salih, deputy premier Azad
Barwari, Kurdistan Region Parliament speaker Kamal
Kirkuki, deputy speaker of the Parliament Dr.
Arsalan Baez and a number of KRG senior officials
were at his reception in Erbil international
airport. In a statement to journalists, the
Kurdistan Region Presidency's Chief of Staff Dr.
Fuad Hussein said “in the coming days, President
Barzani will hold a meeting with Kurdistan
parliament, prime presidencies and leaders of the
political parties in Kurdistan region to explain the
outcomes of his visit to US and his meetings with
senior US officials.” Bearing in mind, President
Barzani visited US upon an official invitation,
where he met the US President Barack Obama and a
number of top US officials. Later, President Barzani

KRG: Peshmerga duties are
according to constitution
In a press statement, KRG official spokesperson Kawa
Mohammed said “the Peshmerga forces are part from
the Iraqi defense system. Peshmerga forces are
carrying out their duties according to the Iraqi
Constitution, where they helped in achieving
security and stability in most of the areas,
especially in the disputed areas.” Mohammed’s
statement came as a response to the statements of MP
Osama al-Nujaifi, who said “the Iraqi Government has
to remove the Peshmerga forces from all the Iraqi
security institutions.” “Peshmerga forces worked to
achieve security all over the time, but some parties
are trying to eliminate them from the Iraqi security
forces and take out the Kurds from participating in

Electricity to enter 19
villages in Rawndoz
Erbil: Technicians embarked on a project worth 1.917
billion Iraqi dinars (roughly $1.6 million) to
extend electricity to 19 villages belonging to the
district of Rawndoz, Mayor Sirwan Sereni said on
Sunday. “The allocations are part of the Provincial
Development Budget (PDB) for Erbil in addition to
other allocation from electricity ministry in the
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG),” Sereni told
Aswat al-Iraq news agency. Rawndoz is 130 km north
of the Kurdish city of Erbil. “The project aims to
provide all services in Erbil, particularly the
mountainous areas where tourism is thriving,” he

Delaying of Iraqi election
imminent as Baathists are allowed back to contention
Iraqi Court of Appeal decision allows former
Baathists back to take part in Iraqi parliamentary
election and results in controversy and dispute
among Iraqi political entities, some of whom reject
the decision calling it unconstitutional. Head of
Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC)
Faraj Haydari soon announced that such decision will
hinder works of the commission and Iraqi Presidency
Council may rule delay of the elections. Haydari
also thinks that any decision for reviewing cases of
those candidates until after the election is wrong.
