ERBIL-Hewlęr, Kurdistan region 'Iraq', — Kurdistan's foreign relations department confirmed Monday that the number of the Syrian refugees in Kurdistan reached to 35.000 who will need more humanitarian assistance in the coming winter.

In a meeting to foreign diplomatic missions in Kurdistan region, who wanted to know the situation of the Syrian refugees in the region, head of the department Falah Mustafa Bakir explained the latest developments in the region and the situation of the refugees.

The meeting was attended by UNHCR representative and a number of Iraqi officials.

Mustafa confirmed respecting the will of the Syrian people, supporting democracy to deal with such crises and respect for the rights of the Syrians.

He elaborated the steps to assist the Syrian refugees, but pointed out the real needs to help them in their distress.
