Kurdistan to form "Hamrin" military
operations in response to Iraq's Dijla operations

Kurdistan region 'Iraq',— A Kurdish report revealed
on Tuesday that forming the leadership Operations of
"Hamrin" will be soon in response to the formation
of Iraq's Dijla Operations forces according to the
order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,
Nuri al-Maliki.
"Awene" Kurdish weekly newspaper quoted Tuesday,
that the leaderships of the two main parties in
Kurdistan, the Kurdistan Democratic Party KDP and
the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan PUK are busy since
more than a month to form a joint leadership of
Peshmerga, Asayish forces and Kirkuk police to
defend the people of Kirkuk province.
"The Minister of Peshmerga in Kurdistan Regional
Government (KRG), Jaafar al-Sheikh Mustafa and his
deputy, Anwar al-Haj Othman hold in 6th of November
a meeting in Kirkuk with Kurdish security chiefs in
Kirkuk to discuss the formation of Hamrin operations
, its leadership mechanism and arming and providing
all logistics for it."
The source pointed out that "the purpose of forming
Hamrin operations is to defend the people of Kirkuk
province and other disputed areas from the
provocations of Dijla operations command now and in
the future."
On the leadership of the forces subjected to Hamrin
operations, the source reported that "Peshmerga
forces will be subjected to the leadership of
Peshmerga Minister and his deputy,www.ekurd.net
while Asayish forces (of the party Patriotic Union
of Kurdistan and the Democratic Party) will be
subjected to leadership of Kirkuk governor, while
the police force will be led by Director General of
Kirkuk Police, Jamal Tahir."
It is noted that announcement of the Prime Minister
and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Nuri al-Maliki
to form Dijla leadership came to control all
security forces of army and police in Kirkuk, Diyala
and Salahuddin provinces led to the aggravation of
the differences between Erbil and Baghdad on one
hand and the refusal of Kirkuk Provincial Council
from the other hand.
